About a 55 min wait on a busy Saturday afternoon. We sat down around 2:50pm and we were still eligible for the lunch prices (ends at 3pm). We ended up going with the "all-day" menu set which is from 11am-closing. We got a bunch of items including: The Shit, Pang, pork belly skewers, nigiri (garlic tuna, salmon, albacore, salmon belly, etc.), salmon handrolls, 300 handroll, towering sashimi poki, and more. The menu indicates that The Shit is a must try, and also indicates that Pang is Sakana strongly recommended, but I actually wouldn't recommend either. They were subpar and it felt like they were just fillers to get you full. The pork belly skewers were not great either, meat was dry and stringy. Onto the positive: the highlights for me were the salmon handrolls and essentially all the nigiri (salmon belly especially). The towering sashimi poki was ok, it was a bit too sweet and I wish it focused more on fish and less crab/sauces. I went with green tea ice cream as my dessert. Server was great and I liked that the food came out quickly and continued coming out quickly unlike some AYCE places that slow down after the first round or two so that you get fuller in between rounds. Overall I think the dishes we ordered were pretty mixed but it was still a pretty good value for AYCE with lots of variety!
Yummy AYCE sushi spot! After a long wrestling tournament, the son and I got really excited to stuff as many pieces of sushi into our mouths as humanly possible. We found ourselves at Sakana and it was great. This place is a descent size and can get pretty packed during those nom nom hours - so plan accordingly. The pricing is comparable to all other AYCE places in town. Their menu is lengthy which is to be expected since it's just a matter of assembly when it comes to rolls. Fish tasted fresh, service was ok (they get busy), and the ambiance is your run of the mill strip mall sushi vibe. Nothing that hit our table disappointed. All the nigiri and rolls were devoured in record time. Their 3 part crunch topping is exceptionally delicious when famished ;) What more can one say? We enjoyed ordering and waiting in anticipation.
O V E R A L L - 6 years since my first review and still going strong! Still one of the best AYCE Sushi in Las Vegas and for an unbeatable price of $25?!?! (lunch) F O O D - Everything this time around was fantastic still and there wasn't really one that I didn't enjoy. All the fish is really fresh tasting and nothing tasted weird or fishy. What I would recommend you save your stomach though is definitely the following: - Seared lemon salmon: DELICIOUS! Love that thinly sliced lemon on top that adds that perfect citrus bite to the salmon. - Yuzu yellowtail: THE YUZU! SO GOOD! And that thinly sliced jalapeno really makes it pop in our mouth. S E R V I C E - This place gets BUSY and packed, so I recommend coming right when they open. You may need to flag down your waiter a few times, because they're so busy. But the staff are super friendly and nice so I don't fault them for being a little slow to take oders. The good thing though is that they don't cap you at how much you can order, so feel free to order some bigger quantities the first round and then slow down for round 2 or 3. A M B I.A N C E - Cute japanese hole in the wall. They have a sushi counter bar and also some nice decorations inside.
3rd time here !! I love bringing people from out of town here, because it is in a good location close to the airport and not too far from the strip. I have come to expect that it will usually be pretty busy, but the staff is very efficient and we never have to wait long. There are a lot of all you can eat sushi places in Las Vegas, but I feel like this one is the best value and the best quality. They really have everything down to a science, and they even offer half rolls! When doing all you can eat, you definitely want to try as many things as you can, and getting only four pieces of a roll makes it super easy to do that. Everything we had was excellent, the only thing that I didn't 10 out of 10 Love was a salmon skin roll. It was just too big and too much rice, but everything else was super excellent! Will be back again!
Sakana is awesome for great sushi and lively music! You'll find them on Maryland and Flamingo, near Target. There's good parking. Inside is a party vibe with amazing reggaeton music, upbeat R&B and Latin. Atmosphere is laid back, relaxing and fun! They offer All You Can Eat which is $29.95 all day from 11am to close. There's also an All You Can Eat Sashimi, which is double the price around $60 worth. Bulgogi Nachos ($6.95) are delicious! Meat is tender and flavorful, has ponzu sauce and garlic, so good! Japanese Lasagna Roll (4 pieces,$5.95) is tasty! It has crab, cream cheese with garlic mayo and eel sauce. Lemon Shrimp Roll ($11.95) is delicious! It has deep fried crab, cucumber, shrimp, avocado, jalapeño and sliced lemon with spicy ponzu. I love Affogato ($3.50), simple yet wonderful treat! Served in a small cup with vanilla ice cream, Korean coffee, and slivered almonds, so yummy! Tiramisu ($4.50) is amazing! It's soft and delightful, served with whipped cream. Deep Fried Banana ($3) is very good! Two fried bananas with vanilla ice and chocolate syrup, Yum! Mochi ice cream ($2.50 each) is light and yummy, flavors include strawberry and mango. Service from Elly is excellent and efficient. He's friendly, courteous, polite, and very knowledgeable about the menu which is greatly appreciated!
Best sushi restaurant in vegas, our server Sandy was awesome as well. Would highly recommend!
The food and service were great! Sandy was an excellent host who made sure we had what we needed. Overall really enjoyed the experience and ambiance, I will definitely be back.
Ladies and gentlemen... the hype is real! Super fresh rolls that are prepared so fast and efficient but not only that they still are beautifully presented on the dish. Rolls aren't sloppy or fall apart. They are well made fresh rolls! All the rolls I had were delicious and I can't wait to come back and try other rolls. Bring your stretchy pants you'll thank me later ;) The menu has a large selection of rolls, appetizers, hand rolls and even dessert. With an all you can eat option and the ability to order half orders (4 rolls instead of 8) gives everyone the opportunity to try more things on the menu. Personally I love this! Great customer service and background music. The chefs are so fast and efficient at what they are doing, at times it seemed that the waiters couldn't keep up with them! Lol Anyways, give this place a try as I'll for sure become a regular.
we had sandy as our waitress and she was awesome!! she was very funny (and reassured my paranoia about prices) and the food was fantastic :) totally reccomend getting "kiss my ass" and the "jack pot roll" the setting is very well decorated and comfortable to eat in too!!
This place is banging. My friend only recommended two spots in vegas in town for sushi. This is one of the two. We came here on a tuesday afternoon right before a movie. I love there's loud throwback tunes from the outside before coming in. Food: me and my buddy just went after recommendations and the funniest names to us. We didn't really care what was inside the rolls. I preferred the fresh rolls and rolls that had crunch texture. My fav roll and what was recommended was the #1 chef makes roll. Great house cold sake. The small green tea ice cream for dessert was a great touch. Service: I hear this place can get really busy at night. I hear its from 30 mins to an hour wait at times. Our experience was just top notch. Ready to take out plates when they are done. Swinging by when they need to. Greeted us fairly quickly. Mind blown the speed and the friendliness of this place. They have a rep and i believe they like to back it up as well. Ambiance: Nice japanese theme. One thing that stood out to me was the music. Playing throwback music (depending on your age right? haha) Great vibes for me. I would recommend to my friends who are local, those who are visiting. Good job Sakana. Bookmarked.
